Try some places in Vermont and the rest of New England, especially during Autumn. I'm sorry that i don't have the name of any towns though. Do they have the show Chronicle where you are. Here's the website, they do lots of segments on little New England towns. Good luck!

What do you mean by small town? Why I think of small towns, I think of 50 to 150 people. You might think that 10,000 people is a small town. Either way, try looking into the following towns. They each have a quaintness and some interesting things to do.
Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Branson, Missouri
Carthage, Missouri

Franklin, Pa. is a quaint little town located between Erie and Pittsburgh. In September they have an event titled Apple Fest. It is a huge craft event with a lot of yummy food. The town is located in a valley. There are hotels available but they are quickly filled up at this time. Its a great weekend get away. We visit every year for girls weekend. Its beautiful and a little colonial.

Red Wing Minnesota is my favorite. It is on the bluffs of the Mississippi, has some arts and has a great historic and revitalized downtown. It is known for pottery, so there are a couple pottery shops and there is a great music(as in instruments) store just out of town also. I know their chamber site sends out a nice guide and its free. www.redwing.org
It is also close to Wabasha and the town/area where they filmed the Grumpy Old Men Movies. And that whole Southeast corner of Minnesota and North east corner of Iowa is a combination of Amish country and Laura Ingalls Wilder Country. You would love all of this.

forget approximately Darwin, it fairly is fairly a great city and extremely remoted from the the remainder of oz. you will under no circumstances get to be certain something. Perth is gorgeous, yet additionally remoted from the the remainder of Australia. Brisbane is now a city yet actual would not have the metropolitan experience of Sydney and Melbourne. in case you prefer to stay close to the coast and characteristic incredibly good climate for various the 300 and sixty 5 days, you're terrific to look between Sydney and Brisbane as different persons have mentioned. the agricultural components around Melbourne are acceptable, however the coast will no longer be a similar. On a map, initiate at Sydney and stick to the coast as much as Brisbane. Coffs Harbour is acceptable as is the Gold Coast Hinterland and everywhere in between. I grew up in Melbourne and now stay in Brisbane and if i'd desire to, i'd circulate everywhere from Coffs Harbour to Gold Coast Hinterland (Mt Tamborine). i do no longer think of you would be disillusioned!
