They both weigh 1lb. There will be much more coffee than steel in a pound of each as coffee is less dense than steel.
Mass = quantity of matter
Weight = the force that earth pulls on mass
Density = mass/volume

If you have a pound of steel and a pund of coffee they weigh the same becasue you have a pound of each.. although the quanity would be different because you would have to have alot more coffee to way a pund compared to a small amount of steel that weighs a pound..
