Could it be that is is actually moderate Muslim's responsibility to stop their murderous brethren, the Islamists, instead of sitting back and begging to be 'understood' by the rest of the world?

I believe so. However, they are just as frightened as the rest of us. In the South of Thailand, the bombinigs kill more moderate Muslims than Buddhists.

Moderate Muslims have a central role to play in stopping radical Islam. But it is also everyone's responsibility to stay alert and keep an active mind, just as it was in WWII when we stopped Nazism and fascism.

I agree 100%. However, it takes courage to do that. There were moderate Germans in the 1920s and 30s who spoke out against Hitler and were killed. Same thing in Stalin's Soviet Union and numerous other states throughout history and in the evil empire of today. That leaves it up to the Western Democracies to police the globe helping those organic people fight for what's right.

Yes the moderate Muslims need to weed those worms out of society instead of pretending its not thier problem...until muslims openly demonstrate in the street about the radicals we will forever hate a whole race for thier viscous ways.

First off, all people who love freedom. But I believe most of the responsibility falls on the "peaceful religion of islam" followers, if that is in fact what they are. Funny they will protest anyone who critisizes thier religion but never protest the acts of terrosim commited by thier fellow muslims.
