How many oil rich countries has the US invaded? How has invasion of Iraq helped to reduce the price of oil or benefited the American economy?
It doesn't look like you're asking this question because you want to learn something. So stop asking stupid questions.

So apparently the government said the oil belongs to the Iraqis??? Well why the hell have US and british petrolium companies been handed almost exclusive rights to manage the oil supplies. The oil is in the hands of private companies.
That is not the most important point for the US govt. the most critical factor is how that oil is sold - in dollars. Saddam had sold his oil in Euros from 2000 on and this caused tremendous harm to the US economy. Basically the US dollar is tied to oil whereas most countries use a gold standard. When oil is traded in Euros the effect on the US economy is disasterous. More dollars are held outside the US than inside it and people begin getting rid of dollars (an already weak currency) and buying Euros instead (a much stronger currency). This causes the dollar value to drop even more.
Less people will trade with the US because they don't NEED dollars to buy oil but can use Euros instead. The fact that oil was sold in dollars meant every country had to sell goods to the US for dollars in order to buy oil. The US which prints dollars for next to nothing effectively got all the imported goods for nothing. A bit like hitting print on your computer and a $100 bill being spat out that you could spend. Thus the ability of the US to get something for nothing and maintain a 48% trade deficit would be very difficult.
From the end of 2006 Iran has begun trading oil in Euros. Look how Iran is making the news virtually every day. the propaganda campaign to prepare for war has begun. Venezuela are also threatening to trade their oil in Euros and it is hitting the headlines (again with negative comments regarding Chavez) just in case Venezuela needs to be invaded too.

You must be right. We have indeeded invaded one single country, overthrew a dictator responsible for millions of rapes and murders, and have remained there to ensure that the country is stabilized and a safe foundation for democracy in that area of the world...and yes, it does happen to be on top of a good amount of oil.
Except for the fact that our government has stated countless times that the oil belongs to the Iraqis...and in case you haven't noticed, we're not exactly swimming in the stuff here as a result of all of this. The United States is an oil rich country by itself...if you liberals would stop your whining about actually doing some drilling here.
When are you going to start finding solutions to our problems and stop trying to say we are the problem? You are obsessed with using inflammatory labels and regurgitating the liberal talking points, but cannot provide any sort of support or logic behind your comments.

No, it's part of our unacknowledgd energy policy. Gotta keep that oil flowing! Not to mention the secret alien technology buried in southern Iraq. Gotta get that before anyone else, too!
Imperialism is about subjugating foreign populations. We could care less about a bunch of insane camel jockeys with swords.

No, I don't think so. It might have something to do with safeguarding the US motor industry or protecting future generations from ridiculous fanatics - take your pick - but as for imperialism, I can't think of a single country where USA runs that country's government (oh, sorry, nearly forgot the UK!!).

before oil was discovered in the middle east, they were a poor people, revenue from oil has helped so many have a better quality of life, longer life, and education. if paying for and helping protect these amenities is wrong, then turn off your central heating, on this ffreezing day, and get rid of your car. but do you agree with the class divisions in the east, and how the distribution of wealth is lacking. don,t get me wrong, i happen to like the arab people, and the americans, why dont they all grow up. we pass this way but once.

some say it is,for some its security... but if it is security, interpol and UN should be in it not only the US. for example, US attacked Iraq the UN's approval, so it rises this question as Irac is an oil rich country... since the congress is against Bush's plans, so the US is not to be fully blamed about this. US is an oilrich country but it is not enough to support themselves either

when resources get in even shorter supply we will all be shouting for our governments to gain controll over the oil and gas. dont say you wont becouse we all like our mp3 players tv's Electricity and such and dont want to loose all that and oil is very important in making all this happen. btw enviromentalists think that they will be fighting over water supplies (ground water and the like) in the next 10 - 20 years. so i look forward to the protesting over that 1

wouldn´t it have been cheaper and faster to buy mexico ( if the US wanted, mexico would´ve have been foreclousured a long time ago. mexico owes gazillions to the US ) or if the US wanted to invade another country with less crazy nuts people except for their president it would have been venezuela. mexico and venezuela have HUGE oil reserves.
