I don't think so for one simple reason -- there's nothing new about it. So-called American Christians have always done this.
After all, America, for years, has claimed to be a "Christian" nation, therefore, who else is running the show? And things haven't changed in regard to national policy -- what can we get and how much will it cost us?

You are talking out of your neck! It's all about the Suez
Canal and Persian Gulf Region. Which is a major
source of the World's Shipping and Trade. If that canal
were successfully blocked, and the Bible indicates the Medes and Persians, (Iran), Libya, and Ethiopia will attempt to do. It would destroy the World Economy!
This alliance is mentioned somewhere in Ezekiel.
I believe 38:5, or thereother.
This will bring about World War. But whether it
happens soon, because the U.S. keeps agitating them.
Or after the worldwide Earthquake, (Isaiah 24), when the Nations of the World are weakened. Remains to be seen.

The Christian culture (since the Renaissance) has been responsible for the advancement of the modern world. Without all the inventions and modernization from the West (Christianity, if you prefer) the OIL would be sitting below the surface doing nothing, making money for nobody and adding nothing to mankind. The industriousness and inventiveness and the incessant search for improvement lifts the standard of living all across the world. And we're nowhere near our limitations. You ain't seen nothin' yet! We don't care what your superstitious, medieval minds cough up next to oppose the march of civilization. People want the good life. We'll deliver it.

According to the Bible, there are more important things than oil, money, or riches. Our true treasure is in Heaven, not in the temporary and decaying things of this world.
But, people can have whatever opinion they want. That does not and will not make their way of thinking true.

Yes it is in fact. Not so much the Christian aspect, but rather to ensure that oil supplies are given a chance to be available to those who need it rather than have it locked down by Muslim fanatics--my Mustang and Harley need that black gold for cry'in out loud.

You better believe it - black gold - that is all they are interested in. They are a wierd breed aren't they. Drag us into a war, kill our soldiers whilst we are trying to help them. I used to think that the yankies were just a bit over positive - now I realise they are deluded.
