A c-section feels weird. I had an emerg one with the first one, so I was knocked out. The second one, I had a spinal done and I could feel tugging and pulling within my stomach. But no pain. After they pulled my daughter out, I felt really nauseaus. The anestiologist (sp?) is right there at your head the entire time to help you out with drugs if you need it. If you say you can't handle being awake anymore, they'll knock you out.
Try not to be scared, do not read info on a section either, it will freak you out more. With the first, my recovery time was almost 8 weeks. I felt like I had been beatne by the world. But I also went through 28 hours of instense back labor before the c-section. With the 2nd csection, I was up and around the next day. I really had no pain. The quicker you get moving, the better you will feel too. I would opt for another section over a regular birth anyday. And the baby will aslo be normal shaped head. no bruising from being pushed out. Good luck and if you want to talk, feel free to IM me!

Dont be scared. I have had 3 of them. I think having a c-section is easier than labor. You will not feel any pain at all while having c-section. My first 2 c-sections was a speedy recovery. I actually felt pretty good and was out shopping 3 days after I got out of hospital. My 3rd wasnt easy b/c I had a tubal.

Don't be afraid hun...seriously. C-sections are thought of as horrible, I can most def. see why you're afraid, but honestly..it is nothing to be afraid of. My mother had 2 of them, she actually prefers them over vaginal birth. She said the recovery is the same amount of time, and the birth is SO much easier! It's probably also best for your sweet little baby, he/she won't have to fight through the birth canal like I did..I came out with bruises all over and a swollen face because my mother tried to have a vaginal birth, I couldnt make it and they ended up taking me out via c-section anyway! It will be over very quickly, I promise! No worries !Plus..you wont feel anything, and you'll have a drape up so you can't see what they are doing.

don't be. They take many steps to make positive you do not sense what is going on and in many circumstances gained't aprove a c-area until eventually there is an particularly reliable reason behind it. I had one with my second toddler by using how irritating the first start(vaginal with extreme issues) To be straightforward I healed faster and felt extra appropriate from the surgical treatment compared to what got here concerning the first time round. thoughts you i did not have a "favourite" vaginal start. the first day you'd be kept in mattress and then as you're feeling extra appropriate they're going to get you up on your ft and transferring slightly. once you're good on your ft they're going to take out the catheter. don't be shocked in case you do not sense hungry the first 24 hours and also that you do not have your 'favourite' bowel moves because belly surgical treatment will "wonder" your bowels. i became starving by the point they were given me into OR (emergency earlier me led to my surgical treatment to be about 3 hours late) and that i had no urge for foodstuff until eventually the middle of the subsequent day. in simple terms save in thoughts that is for you and toddler's wellbeing. also FYI many L&D nurses do no longer typically grant further soreness meds previous what the final practitioner prescribes. this does no longer advise that you'll't have extra or better soreness meds in case you want it after surgical treatment, it in simple terms means you want to ask for it. it will be a reliable theory to save a notepad next for your mattress so that you comprehend at the same time as the finest dose became so that you comprehend at the same time as it really is o.k. to ask for yet another dose. i finished up with a spinal headache following a failed epidural(worst headache in this earth!) and some nurses would convey me yet another dose at the same time as others felt it became extra appropriate to attend until eventually I requested for it allowing the meds to lapse and the killer headache to go back.

My wife had 2 of them. They really aren't that bad. Her stomach hurt for a while after, but she said the pain wasn't that bad.
One thing I do recommend is to have your husband, or whomever, in the room with you when you deliver. I have a picture of the baby right after he came out. The doctor lifted him up and behind him was that really bright operating lamp. It is really one of the best pictures I've ever taken. It could be in a magazine.
