My Mother in Law's fridge just died and she needs to buy a new one. We have no idea what to get as far as brand, etc. She is going to be selling her condo in a couple of years so would like something to help with the resale (if the fridge matters). She likes the fridge and freezer side by side vs freezer at the top.

Thanks

Stay with a name brand, and the style is purely personal. If she wants a side by side, that is fine.

She may want to change both refrigerator and range to match for resale. I do know that the stainless steel has been gaining popularity and is highly desireable right now.

Really makes your kitchen pop for buyers and looks like a kitchen makeover.

She may wanna look at the stainless steel fridges, if she is looking for a selling point.

Sticking with a name brand (Amana, Maytag, Hotpoint) may not be the cheapest option, but you generally get a better quality unit as well as a better warranty.

first you need to worry about measurements (if there is a limit on size...) get the measurements and go to any home store (we like Sears, they deliver free LOL) make sure it fits your space... then look to options.

reselling... neutral colors or stainless steel are your best bet... well known brands are best, so people know they can get parts/help if there is ever a problem.
