My friend Gill,

yes, the parking in the domestic airport of IGIA is reasonably safe. The charges are a little high, and used to be around Rs. 60 per day when I used to park my car overnight on a regular basis for short trips. (I would imagine they may in the order of Rs. 120 per day, now), but having used that facility for 2 nights at a time on several occasions, I can say that they are safe and can be used. Of course, at the time of leaving your car there, request the attendant to help you with a parking site that is for long term parking and they would guide you to an area, where your car will be somewhat safer compared to other locations. When I want to leave my care for such longer term, i always tend to park the car closer to a good lighting source, closer to the main road and that way, the chances of some vandals pilfering anything will be relatively lesser. (I am just sharing this, although, i have not heard such complaints from anyone).

Also, you should remember one more thing. There are two different parking sites; (near Terminal A) one for the Indian airlines and Kingfisher and (near Terminal B) another for all other private airlines. The distance between the two is a good 300-400 metres walk and in the night, you may have problems locating the place, if you have to go from one to other, just in case your outgoig and incoming flights are in two different terminals.

Hope you find this information useful.

I live in Gurgaon, only 14 kms from Delhi domestic airport. Park the car at my place and I will drop you at the airport.

Frankly. I have heard of several recent instances of vandalism and theft. Additionally, not a good amount of covered parking. I would NOT park at this airport personally.\R
