(1) would you shrug it off that you did not see anything after all (
2) or would you believe you did see movement and investigate it.

The first time or second time I probably shrug it off. but If I keep seeing it, I would get up and see what it was.

i am always seeing something in this old haunted place,i just ignore it.everthing from cats to people now that my dog died yesterday,i look to see her eny day.

check it out, dont just assume its your imagination..I have had similiar experiences, and done lots of research...look up info on the net for "shadow people"
