i ask your self if conservatives are feeling they're between a rock and a confusing position. ought to Rudy win the nomination, fantastically unlikely, to me it would advise the conservative base has taken the first step in reclaiming their party. If we get our rights eroded or taken away thoroughly, below social conservatives, u.s. would not favor them and the republican party will be a lot extra appropriate off with a economic conservative. decrease the moral intense floor stuff for a lengthy time period, you've too many human beings being discovered to blame of committing crimes. Social conservatism truly isn't the republican party's reliable factor and it has a tendency to enable the non secular area benefit too a lot means on your own party. Rudy is your in effortless words wish, i'm telling you this as an self sufficient. The republican party desperately needs a substitute of route, per chance it really is time to go with a large city candidate.

Think about it...when the South Carolina primaries comes around. Giuliani will not run from his record of being pro choice, pro gun control, pro civil rights and he doesn't hate the gays. His tough stance on crime and leadership on 911 will not win over these GOP negatives. He doesn't have a prayer unless the conservatives will compromise themselves...and they don't have a good record on compromise.

Giuliani would be a great candidate for president but I don't think he will ever make it past the debates. He is almost a middle of the roader, which is a guy for me, but the far right Republicans will shun him.

Yes, he can win. He is against some of the far right ideals, but not the majority moderate Republicans. Also, even the far right wants to win. They will choose a candidate that can win.

It is a long shot but possible. My money is on Brownback to do it (my money mind you, not my vote). He has some ideas that will appeal to a lot of conservatives, not just Bush's base of supporters.

I think he deserves to. Whether or not he will depends on whether "social conservatives" can back the best candidate rather than one who says he will overturn Roe v Wade.

it is possible, not probable. at this time its too soon to worry about that. let the dems self destruct in the mean time. the best thing that he could do is stay out of sight and stay quiet until the last possible moment, become a late entry dark horse, clean and quite away from the gossip
