I usally have a regular period with the IUD since it was inserted. It's been almost two years and for the first time missed my period. I took a pregnancy test after a week of the missed date it was negative. I'm still experiencing small cramps with breast tenderness. Help, on suggestions!

Yes its possible. You need to call your OBgyn.. and tell them of your concerns.. A woman knows she is pregnant before the test comes out positive.. I knew i was pregnant way b4 the positive lines on BOTH of my pregnancies.

an IUD is VERY effective, the only thing more effective is permanent sterilization.

It is common after a year or two to stop having periods all together with an IUD in. So it's possible that is what happened to you.

Since having my IUD in I've only had scattered periods and they aren't regular by any stretch of the imagination.

It is possible but very unlikely. Have you checked your strings to see if the IUD is still in place? I would test again in a week and if negative I wouldn't worry about it.

Our first child was conceived while I was using an IUD. The darn thing had, unknowingly, fallen out and I discovered it when I vacuumed the rug adjacent to the bed a couple days later. Check to see if it's in the bed linen, on the floor, etc.

Yes, it's still possible. IUD isn't 100%. I believe most give off hormones, though and it could just be a flip in your hormones. You can be "regular" forever and then boom- female hormones get scattered and confused.

Yes, it's possible. Not likely, but possible.

It's also possible that the IUD has fallen out.

Although it doesn't happen often, it is been know to. I would do one more test. If it still comes out negative, then I wouldn't worry about it.
