Everything will be fine. My friend had the same thing happen to her. They did a c-section and got the baby out fine. It just happens like that sometimes and if they didnt find out and tryed a normal labor then i would be freaked out! The Dr. know what they are doing so just take it easy, get some rest, you will need it after that little one does finally arrive!

C
sections are not difficult anymore. I recovered just as quickly from my c section as i did from my 2 natural births.
I knew it was comming my whole pregnancy, having had an emnergency, knocked me out, c section 2 years earlier. KNowing it is on the way is more difficult than being rushed to ER surgery.
I suggest you relax. Make sure you have someone at the house for you for at least 2 weeks after baby is born.
Good news is, you will probably never see the bikini cut. You will not have as much discharge after the baby is born becuase there will not be any trama to your vagional walls and cervix.
You will be able to be awake, see your baby right after it is born, and you will have a few extra days in the hospital, with help from the nurses.
I hope you are planning on breastfeeding. C sections do not hinder breastfeeding moms, and the medications are safe, although I didn't have any pain killers the day after the c section on.
Hope this helps some.

My girlfriend's baby was breached at 38 weeks too, The dr didn't want to flip the baby because there is a risk of the cord getting in the way. She went in to have the c-section and to the surprise of everyone the baby flipped on her own. But when she went in labor it didn't progress and she ended up having a c- section. She was very scared of the c-section and was really freaking out but after it all she was very happy and didn't know why she was so scared of it. Don't stress out, it maybe for nothing and it really isn't good for the baby. I know I was pregnant once too and it's hard not to worry but try your best to relax. The c-section sometimes must be used because it is best for mother and baby and in you case it is best and it will be okay. Good luck! Trust me once you see your beautiful baby's face it won't matter how he/she ended up in your arms the fact that the baby is in your arms is all that matters.

I tihnk that's great that they are allowing you a c-section rather than forcing you to try regular delivery which could put you and the baby at risk. Just think - a c-section is over in less than an hour, versus vaginal delivery which could have you in labor for 24 hours or more. Of course, you should definately discuss your recovery and potential long-term effects of the c-section with your doctor, before you have it done. Best wishes.

there are some exercises you can do to try and help the baby turn... also, find a chiropractor in your area who is familiar with the webster technique, this usually gets the baby turned. you could ask your doctor to try and manually move the baby...my baby was transverse (sideways) until 35 weeks, and my doctor told me she would turn her if she hadn't moved yet. but whatever the outcome, don't be afraid. my mom had 2 c-sections and 1 vaginal birth, and she said that the c-section is not any worse than a vaginal birth. think of all the vaginal pain youll be avoiding... you go in, no pain, and bam.. you have your beautiful baby! good luck!

They didnt try to turn the baby manually? I'd get another doctor, they really should try turning the baby... unless the baby is too low...
If you have to have a c-section, you'll be fine, and so will baby. Dont worry. Once it comes down to it, you're so excited and focused on seeing your baby and getting the pregnancy over with, that you really dont freak out as much as you think you will.
