Ahhh... From personal experiences, I can say that it's POSSIBLE to meet decent people online. However, you MUST NOT trust them since you never know that they may be fooling you. Don't be personal with them, don't let them know your exact address, etc. Notice whatever they tell you about themselves (do they tell you personal things? Does it seem like they trust you? Do they ask too many questions about you and kind of pressure you to answer them?), and once you've known them for a while--more than a few months, at least--then you may go ahead and think that you CAN trust them but still be careful. I've got a couple of close friends online, and I feel that I can trust them. But it's kinda hard to tell sometimes.
Just like in person, it's hard to find someone trustworthy, so do keep that in mind.
I hope you make good friends online and not some foolish, dishonest ones (if you ever do decide to make online-buddies). Best of luck!

It si not wrong as long as you trust that person. Let me tell you something, you can spent 4years with someone and you still dont trust them, but you can only spent 4 hrs with someone and you trust them. it is only how comfortable you will be with that someone. Once they feel they are trusted they begin to show some respect and give the trust in retain.
