"Rich" means anyone with a penny more. Take that penny and give it to someone with less.

The question was asked, "Can a Republican be Liberal or a Democrat be Conservative"? The answer is, "Yes". A Conservative is someone who believes in traditional views and values, where a Liberal is someone who is progressive and allowing. Conservatives tend to fall into the Republican ideologies, where Liberals tend to follow those of the Democrats; however, it is possible to be a Conservative that follows the political agenda of the Democratic party and visa versa. I'm a Conservative that believes in the overall ideals of the Republican party, but I am not impressed with any of our recent candidates. I furthermore believe that Obama is absolutely the last thing this country needed in 2008.

Taxation of the rich is the Corporations that get tax shelters and don't pay any taxes at all. A good example would be Exxon Mobil with their record profits and inflated costs. The Republican smoke screen that has already posted to the page is just trying to cover up the truth and facts. When Bill Clinton taxed them the economy thrived and interest rates dropped. Most people got a larger tax refund then unlike this present Bush Administration. Causing inflation only allows the very rich to thrive in America, and that has always been the Republicans plan.

To identify the rich, go to their neighborhoods and observe:

- how nicely maintained their streets are (no potholes)
- how clean their streets are (no trash)
- the nice street lights
- how nicely landscaped & manicured their parks are
- how nice the public schools are where they send their kids
- how nice their local library is
- how nice & extensive local fitness & recreation (e.g., ballparks) facilities are
- the amount and frequency of civic programs & services (e.g., soccer for the kids, etc.)

Now go to the poor part of town and observe these same public services.

Now can you HONESTLY tell me that there is any comparison??? And all of the things that I have pointed out are paid for with public tax dollars.

The notion that somehow the poor are given a free ride in this country is perpetrated by intellectually dishonest people and unthinkingly spread by others through ignorance.

The wealthy in this country receive far more in benefits. I haven't even mentioned other services that are used primarily by the wealthy (e.g., the arts such as opera, theater, etc. that are publicly underwritten).

So I'm sorry that some of us advocate that they put up and pay up.

Rich means anyone making more than Minimum Wage. Up until about the 5% percentile or so, then you become the "Very Rich" bracket that gets reduced tax.

Good question.

Better question is why are Yahoo trolls - both "liberal" & "conservative" - so divisive?

Until we can stop the playground's name calling & finger pointing, this country will never come together & live up to it's great potential.

Will you children please stop it & do something positive for your country? Go out and volunteer for a worthy orginazation (maybe a veteran's hospital) & stop trolling on Yahoo!!!!
