My girlfriend lives in the us. and has found a lump in her breast which the doctors now want to take a biopsy of, If it shows that she will need further treatment, can she come to the uk and recieve nhs treatment

No, she would have to pay for her treatment in the UK, or at least have insurance to cover it. She will not be able to get treatment at the cost of the NHS

no she can not but, paying for the treatment is a lesser price than paying with your life , she should continue treatment in u s , i know my family would pay any amount to save my life or to get me any treatment i needed, what do you value most your money or your girlfriend?hope she wont need further treatment .

no, you need to be a citizen of the United kingdom. it's not a free health service for the rest of the world to drain, we pay the highest ammount of tax in europe to keep that going. sorry for the agression, and i know you must be worried. besides even if you could do that they don't give breast cancer drugs out it's too expensive they say.

If she is working in UK she is able to get NHS treatment, if just a visitor she can see a GP and it is up to them to charge her for their time, but yes you can be seen for this condition

She would still have to pay as only UK / EEC residents can get the NHS rates. But it would still be cheaper than in the US.

I'm afraid I agree with Strawberry Tart. I struggle on low income and pay a huge wad in Nat.Ins. and have a hard time even getting to see a doctor, let alone treatment.They have much better Healthcare over there so why come sponging off us?

no you need to actually be a citizen of united kingdom to be treated by a government run thing like nhs

I dont understand why she would want to, the US has a much better cure rate than we do in the UK.

In all honesty, I dont think she should. If she is in america, she should have it done there. Why should I pay for her treatment through my taxes? She has the facilities in america, she should get it done there.

you have to move here then .. you might get treatment hope the biopsy shows there nothing wrong .
