I had no idea where the term originated. This is what I found:

What is the origin of the word 'moolah'?

Moolah is a Fijian word meaning 'money'. This word may be the origin of the English slang for 'money'.

P.S. Couldn't most of us use a little extra moolah?

It means money. I'm not sure from where it originates...Italy?

i think it came from spain and it means money
