I think the 'historically justifiable' and most commonly heard claims of China are:
Tibet is part of China
E. Turkestan is part of China
Taiwan is part of China
and according to some very patriotic Chinese:
Mongolia is part of China
Uzbekistan is part of China
and the fanatical jingoists there:
Siberia is part of China.
Now, the Philippines? Hmm. I dont think so. At least not in this century. However, many Chinese can take over countries through economic colonization, not political.
Nevertheless now the most common Northern Asian seen in the Philippines is a Korean, not a Chinese.

China already has its own muslim problem in the western provinces, the Uighurs. They don't need another one, especially since their army is a land-based one; controlling western China and Tibet is far easierl.
As well, the bastards in the communist party knoew which economic to be on. They're more interested in expanding markets than empires, and the way they're doing it has proved to be VERY successful, a tactic which the US and Europe never had the brains to try.
They're paying a fair price for goods they purchase.
If the PRC _does_ try to extend its influence into the Philippines, it will be solely to build factories and hire labour at an affordable but still fair wage. The archipeligo's proximity and low GDP makes them an ideal trading partner; the Chinese communists wouldn't even think about pushing ideologies onto them.

I really don't know if the Philippines is on their list of acquisitions but I do know that they want Taiwan badly and some day this may cause a very serious rift between the Chinese and the USA....even war. We are giving China billions by allowing them to produce large quantities of goods for the USA. Soon there will be an automobile from China. We are allowing China to arm with our money. America, you are a nation at slumber and when you finally awaken it may be too late for you.

China DOES dispute the Spratley Islands to the west of the Republic of the Philippines... The Spratley's sit atop a large oil field.
But I seriously doubt that China would try to invade. Too much political heat, and China just doesn't have the amphibious capability.

I do have faith that Philippines own it. via fact, historic previous isn't adequate to be the evidence that an island is your, that is approximately how close an island is on that u . s . a ., and Scarborough Shoal is closer to the Philippines while in comparison with China. And so a techniques as you could discover Scarborough Shoal on the globe, you could discover that the Philippines is closer to that island. China needs it via fact they like to destroy the coral reef and different subject that they are able to get to that island. See what the chinese language fishermen do to the reefs. Does China human beings rather care to the islands like Spratly and different islands in South China sea or they only prefer to destroy it and get some thing on it? Philippines is wealthy in organic supplies and nevertheless guard it it rather is why many vacationer prefer to flow to the country. For me, China is so grasping in claiming those island. besides only seem on the map and see it for your self via fact it ought to reply to your question.

Most likely not, they just want to retain them as a trading partner. China does not have a Navy or Air Force that will allow them to engage in a sustained assault of that magnitude.
If they decide to expand it will be to the south (india) or to the north (russia).
