Wolves/dogs? see in `Sepia` (black + yellow/orange i.e. an old photo).

Current thinking has changed and things aren't quite so straightforward as dogs seeing in monochrome.

Dogs seeing in red would only be true if their eyes were only capable of detecting red light, which is not the case. Even if the dog did just see in shades of one color, the your question has no correct answer because there is no frame of reference - i.e. no other colors to compare, only shades of brightness.

The link below has a good explanation.

Dogs can see all colors, but the amount of rods and cones, and the function of their eyes causes all the colors to be in a more gray-scale style. The colors are more muted.

Dogs see in black and white, as do most other animals. This is why they do not seem to have good depth perception; depth perception is better when a object is viewed in color.

Black & white...

look at Zebra's. they're camoflaged, becuase dogs (hyena's) & cat's (lions) only see in black & white. so a black & white striped zebra is camoflaged like tall grass to a dog/cat (who would see everything as black & white).
