I thought Simon Cowell was bad... but Randy Jackson is now irritating me beyond belief with his "Wassup dawwwwg?" crap and all this garbage about "Im not really feeling you man" and "You da BOMB dawg!"
Do people really talk like that in America, and is this just me being an unenlightened Brit, or is it equally annoying to everyone. I'm also interested to find out what Americans REALLY think of Simon Cowell and Cat Deeley on the programme...

Tell you what bestofenemies - what annoys me even more than people preaching, is people preaching in a hypocritical manner! You wasted time answering this question when you could have been out there saving the world which makes you as bad as the rest of us.

Yes, Samina, Cat Deeley is definitely on American Idol - she is the female equivalent of Ryan Seacrest and talks to the contestants after they come off the stage.

No, American's don't really talk like Randy Jackson unless they are Irritating posers who are trying too hard to be "cool". The guy is pathetic, he is trying to be 'hip' and 'with it', but he's failing miserably.
I like SImon Cowell, although he can be abrupt and a bit harsh, at least he's totally honest about things. Paula Abdul, in contrast, can be a bit too nicey, nicey and sickly sweet.
Cat Deeley made it in America as a presenter, because she is a bit of a 'novelty' to the American public. I don't mind her, at all. She does the job well enough. My partner, who is British (I'm American), says Cat's just another Tess Daly, Kate Thornton, etc. nothing 'special' and not particularly talented.

Yes Randy Jackson is irritating, but so is Paula Abdul, she has nothing interesting to say all she does is fawn over the guys. Simon is ok on it at least he is honest and original. I like Cat Deeley cannot see what she is doing wrong. Show will be better in a couple of weeks when they get down to the 12 they want for the final weeks.

is Cat deeley on American idol? Cause the only time I've ever seen her is on "so you think you can dance". She's not on any american Idol I've seen. I'm confused. However, she seems okay.
Simon - I love him. I think he is a S.O.B. but he is usually right. He's just not very diplomatic about it, which is really part of his charm. So many people now adays are so concerned about political correctness that they will routinely lie to people's faces. At least he's honest about how he feels.
Randy annoys me to no end. I'm pretty sure that everyone understands that yes, he's black. No problem. He just likes to beat us over the head with it. And instead of coming across as this cool, hip guy - he comes across to me as a really bad black stereotype. Talk like a normal human being just once and a while Randy, and people would respect you just a little bit more.
And is it just me or is Paula just getting more and more weird and spacey lately?

Well said, you have saved me from asking exactly the same question. It's fascinating in a way, how the yankies are so full of confidence - there is absolutely no doubt in the contestants minds that they are the best and most talented person in the competition. It is more of a comedy show - what's with all the silly hand movements by the singers, holding their hearts, reaching out to the camera, silly facial expressions - me and my bf were in hysterics - they really do love themselves. The yankies need Simon Cowell to bring a bit of reality into their lives and tell these wannabees that you know what you aint as good as you think!. Randy Jackson needs to go back to school and learn how to speak properly. Paula is OK but check out the way she claps her hands together - bizzare. Cat, bless her - nice girl but boring and dull - just what the yankies like though - she will fit in like a dream. Having sad all of the above, I'm hooked!!!

some people talk like that in America but not all, I'm sick of all the judges on idol, theyve overplayed their roles so much its just sickening, Simon is the bad guy, Paula is the one who is always concerned with age and supports everyone no matter how bad they are, Randy Jackson is the middle of the road guy who even after stapling his stomach cant stop gaining weight, Ryan Seacrest is really pissing me of! he's always patronising people and getting cheap cracks at Simon even though he tells the truth, I mean everine cant be great on idol as there can only be one winer. Cat delley is booring full stop.
watch ugly betty instead

I hate that little sneaky-*** way Randy tries to get Paula to area with all his evaluations. And as if that weren't nerve-racking sufficient, Paula continually does it. would not that female have a mine of her own. Yea 'pitchy' and 'dawg' virtually make me pick to get a cost ticket to Hollywood, locate the american Idol studios, and kick Randy Jackson's a ss

Please dont' think Americans talk like that. Randy Jackson tries to pick up the lingo of thugs, but it's about as outdated as his wardrobe. I think he is extremly annoying and I think the was tired of being in Simon's shadow so he had 'pick his image' so he will stand out more. Seems like the producers were trying to hard to make him the token black guy instead of the educated man we met when Idol first started here.

Randy Jackson irritating? Hmm, maybe but he's genuine. Cat Deeley, now she is an annoying brat which a terrible British accent. Why is she even on the show, what is her sole purpose?

I find American Idol and the obsession with it to be irritating.
As for the language, that is how urban people do speak around here. I don't get it. Even some whites try to speak like that, and they don't even live in the ghettos.
