The constant poops are normal at that age.
Change him more often - the less time his poop is on his skin, the healthier his skin will be.
Avoid wiping him with commercial wipes - they are harsh - try a wash cloth and warm water and soap. Make sure he is very dry, then apply a barrier cream and a clean nappy.
If you have a space - give him some naked time - lay him on a receiving blanket on his belly or back and let him air out completely for a while.

Pooping all the time is pretty normal at this age, especially if he's breastfed. The red bottom, though, is cause for concern.
My son has very sensitive skin, and I dealt with frequent and sometimes severe diaper rash with him, while I tried desperately to find something I could use to make him more comfortable.
First, stop using the wet wipes. The kind you have might be irritating his skin. Use something soft, either a soft washcloth or some very soft paper towels (I've found that the Viva paper towels are soft enough for this). Use the wet washcloths or paper towels until his bottom isn't red anymore.
If you don't notice a difference after a few diaper changes, start applying a diaper cream or ointment. I recommend starting with Desitin creamy. Try it for a few diaper changes. If it gets worse or doesn't get better, try a different one. Look at the active ingredients -- you will see that there are basically two different main classes of diaper rash medication. The creams tend to have zinc oxide, and the ointments tend to have petrolatum. Try each, look for other unusual things to try, whatever you have to do. If all else fails, make your own concoction (this is what my doctor suggested, with the ingredients she recommended): use one zinc oxide based cream (Desitin), one petrolatum-based ointment (A&D ointment), and Aquaphor.
If you get to the point where you've experimented all you can and your baby isn't getting better, by all means take him to the doctor. Especially if it turns bloody or sores start to appear!
But if you can get it to go away, then you can (very carefully) experiment with different kinds of wet wipes again to see if a certain kind irritates his little bottom. While I can use just about anything on my daughter (and I personally prefer Huggies), my son can only handle Pampers Sensitive. It only takes one or two diaper changes using something else before he gets a rash. They aren't as effective (in my opinion) removing that newborn breastfed-baby yellow poop, but it's the only thing I could use.
It's also possible this could be a food allergy. Your baby should only be getting breastmilk (or formula/ABM) at this age, but it's possible something in the mother's diet is giving him tummy trouble. You might want to consider an elimination diet to find out what it is if you think this might be the problem.
Good luck, I hope you can find out what works for your baby!

It is not abnormal for a newborn to have poopie diapers often! My baby pooped about 8 times a day in the beginning. He has a red butt because he is pooping a lot and is getting diaper rash. Try keeping him as dry as possible and use a good amount of diaper rash ointment every time you change him. You can also wipe him with a warm, wet paper towel instead of wipes (this will be a little less harsh on his skin). Best of luck!

it's normal to have poopie diapers almost every time. As for the red bottom he needs diaper ointment like A & D or some other brand he has diaper rash. He cries because it hurts and only putting on the ointment EVERY time you change him will help, it will take a few days to clear up.

Been there done that. Make sure you change him quickly and apply some cream. A+D works great at this age. Its really gentle on their skin. You want the original forumula that is in a orange and white container. You could try destin or triple paste also. Triple paste works instantly on my son and he's had some bad diaper rashes. Also, once the rash clears up, apply A+D after each change to keep a barrier up.

Yeah the poopies are very normal at this age, they'll gradually decrease as the weeks go by, but as far as the diaper creme, I would suggest that you also not use wipes, use a warm washcloth, or if you do use wipes, PAMPERS sensitive work great for bare bottoms, and instead of diaper rash creme, use AQUAPHOR. It is kinda costly but it works a lot beeter than diaper rash creme. And it is less messier!!!

ok this is normal at first but make sure this is not being caused by his formula second this is going to sound weird but put bagbalm on his butt trust me it works donot put anything else on him matter of fact if at all possible when you put the bagbalm on him leave his diaper off for a few minutes to get some air but make sure you keep this on there until it is gone
