No- and if so not significantly-
The Blu-ray and HD TV aspects of the system, as well as general inflation, are what they are hedging their bets on- the thinking being that in 2 years the PS3 at $550+ will not seem all that extravagant.

For those people saying $100 or $200 their way off. It takes a long time for prices to drop that low (like 5-6 Years) In two years the high-end PS3 will be around $300 - $350 and that's being leinent. Thats HALF the price of what it costs now. But it also depends on how successful the PS3 is. If it isn't very successful it won't drop very much, but if it's no successful the price is likley to drop very loe.

Of course it will. The high costs now are due to engineering expenses and the fact that supply is not as high as demand. In a year, the price will probably drop by a third. In two years, the price will drop to probably half of what it is now.

100% sure of it... Price depriciates as time goes... Cellphone models are of example. Although, a bit of advice, who knows? maybe two years from now there will be a PS4 (laughs), try saving money for that one...
