I am not sure why gas is going back up again, but I am sure they will come up with another lie about it. It is ridiculous the way the gas keeps going up. It will be interesting to know what the story is this time. =)

The TRUE cost of a gallon of gasoline is a lot higher than you think when you factor everything in, especially how much we spend to protect our OPEC "friends" from incursions.
Try $15.14 per gallon!!!
http://www.progress.org/gasoline.htm
"So you think you're getting a good deal on a tank of gasoline these days? You wouldn't think so if all the oil industry tax subsidies received from the federal and state governments and other costs that went into producing that gallon of gasoline were included in the pump price.
Such external costs push the true price of gasoline as high as $15.14 a gallon, according to a new report released by the International Centre for Technology Assessment. "
The much maligned Jimmy Carter predicted our gas shortages almost 30 years ago:
http://www.commondreams.org/views05/0503-22.htm
"Consider President Jimmy Carter's April 18, 1977 speech. Since it was given nearly three decades ago, when many of the reporters in Bush's White House were children, it's understandable that they don't remember it. But it's inexcusable that Bush and the mainstream media (which, after all, has the ability to do research) would completely ignore it. It was the speech that established the strategic petroleum reserve, birthed the modern solar power industry, led to the insulation of millions of American homes, and established America's first national energy policy. "With the exception of preventing war," said Jimmy Carter, a man of peace, "this is the greatest challenge our country will face during our lifetimes.""
Regan basically killed all funding into renewable resources when he took office. One of the first things he did was dismantle the solar collectors Carter had installed on the White House to conserve energy. And, he laughed about it. I remember this, not from the cited article, but from my interest in solar energy at the time. I remember thinking: "Well, there goes solar energy, down the tubes."
Now G. Dubya Bush claims originality for energy policies? MY @SS!!! His poppa was part of the problem.
Had we spent one tenth as much on research the last 30 years as we did/do on killing people, we wouldn't be in this mess now, and many of our brave citizens would still be with us.
As much as many people critisize and hate Clinton, he left office with a budget SURPLUS. Now look at the ever mounting deficit. Tax and spend Liberals? How about BORROW and spend Conservatives? Being a moderate, I lie in-between.
We're mortgaging our children's future at an ever alarming rate, and squat is being done about it.
