Cl chlorine There are two stable isotopes Cl 35 and Cl 37

the atomic number of Cl is Z=17 number of protons and electrons
so Cl 35 has 35-17 = 18 neutros and Cl 37 has 20 neutrons

For C carbon Z=6 6 protons and 6 electrons

C12 most common form has 6 protons and 6 neutrons

C13 used in MRI has 6 protns and 7 neutrons

the no of protons is hte same as the no of electrons. The no of neutrons is the atomic no - the no of protons. you can find the atomic no on the periodic table
