I have this female friend whom for some reason I have always been very nervous around (ever since we met this was in high school). She's now married with a kid and I still remain single. She made me commit for us to meet atleast every month for coffee and some chit chat. After all these yrs I still feel terribly uncomfortable and uneasy bec I just feel something is just not right. When we met she used to tease me a lot and even make me mad then at the end of each day she'd write like a sorry note and that would calm me down. I brought it up one day after more than 10 yrs in one of our monthly get together. Then she finally told me this, "you thought i didn't like you, but the truth of the matter is I've loved you the 1st time I saw you". She told me this a few months ago and I still get nervous everytime I'm with her. By the way I am a female too!

She's an emotionally controlling and abusive person, and if she needs to go as far as sex to achieve the control she wants, she'll go there. She repeatedly teased and then apologized, and it sounds like it was a routine. This is simply an emotional form of what an abusive guy does when he beats up his girlfriend and then goes back pleading for forgiveness. It won't really stop until you meet her and say at the end that this is the last time you'll be meeting her for coffee, because you really don't get anything out of it. You'd better be serious about it though, because if you let her talk you back into it she'll only set the hook deeper.

Her notes and the fact she still makes time for you in the last 10 years is a sign that she LOVES YOU AS A FRIEND.
She did not say she was IN love with you.

Question- Why do you keep meeting up with a friend who you don't feel comfortable with? Sounds like you want it to be more.
