ive done it loads of times and most other people who enjoy a drink and have a car has as well at some time or other....but the best thing to do is a zero tolerance action against drink driving as in no alcohol at all is to be permitted in the system....i could easy drink 4 pints and it wont impair my driving but i know a guy who weighs in at 18 stone and is wrecked on a pint, and plenty of people drive the morning after the night before still over the limit and a lot of these people are the ones who get on their high horse about it all.
The goverment must introduce one of two things.
the sobreity test that they used before breathylisers(as in the case of my 18 mate he would be fine if breath tested but incapable of getting behind the wheel safely)
or no 2. No alcohol at all to be present in the body.
thats my opinion anyhow

There is no discussion on this subject. Nobody should jeopardise the life of another by being impaired through the effect of alcohol, or drugs for that matter. I cannot abide the people who think they know better than the professionals when drinking and driving is the issue. One only has to witness the effect of an 'accident' caused by a drunken driver, to know, for certain, that the anguish and pain caused to the relatives of an injured or dead victim is something the perpetrator of the 'accident' would feel an outrage if it was his Family member.
I realise that I have 'discussed' this matter with the writer of the question but there is no defence for this criminal act and I sincerely hope the writer is convinced of my attitude and argument and concur with me that the penalties metered out by the courts should be revised.

There is nothing to discuss here. Drinking and driving is so obviously criminal behaviour that any sensible person will have no hesitation in making the right decision.

Prison, stupid, selfish, and murderous. Don't do it, if you do, take the fall and don't complain, you should know better, it's not like it's a secret. It's illegal and for a good reason too.
