A young Korean family came to America in 1974, they did not know how to speak english. They also had 3 young boys. The mother cleaned floors while the father work at a fruit stand. By 1980 the father bought the fruit stand and the mother came to work with him, by 1982 they expanded into a store front and 8 employees. They saved and put all 3 boys through college. In 1987 they were sued by a black group, they claimed the Korean family watched them too closely while shopping and didn't hire any blacks. The suit was dropped when the humble father produced 129 hours of video showing black youths and adults stealing from them, thousand of dollars worth of his labor for years. All 3 boys finished medical school and are successful doctors. They came to our shores with only the clothes on their backs. They never protested, never demanded Korean history Month, never never bothered anyone and over came racism in a black neighborhood.
I loved reading about them
what do you think?

You have made an excellent point! But thats where the problem begins. You see, truth such as that, is not what people want to hear. They cant handle it. To be more PC the blacks that stole from the Korean merchants were justified because the 'white' Koreans were keepin them down. It's never their fault.

Thank you for that wonderful story, it just goes to show that you can still acheive the American Dream if you are willing to work for it.
I really started to dig those Korean shop owners in LA when they shot the black girl for stealing orange juice and the Koreans shooting blacks from the rooftops during the LA riots just totally ruled in my book. They have not had this PC crap pounded into them like the whites in America that blacks can do no wrong, and to claim otherwise is "racist". I have much respect for them!

Here is what I think.
I am African American. I can trace my family back to 1798. My ancestors have endured slavery, grinding poverty and legal discrimination for most of our history in this country. My parents attended segregated schools. My parents were not permitted to try clothes on in stores or enter certian buildings. This is not ancient history.
What they have done has nothing to do our experience. I respect what these Koreans have done with thier opportunity. But to compare African Americans to them is an insult an denigrates all that we have survived. See sir, our community has problems but we are survivors and I am extremely proud that we have survived and in many cases thrived.
Racism by anyone is bad and if they suffered from that by black people that is wrong. But can you imagine what it is like to be stuck in grinding poverty and to see immigrant group afte immigrant group come into your neighborhood and make thier way in this country on your communities back. To us african americans it sometimes seems that immigrants get a hate the n****ger right along with thier green card.

Wow! You're a regular Dr. Suess. one instance, one story and your judgement of Black people is encased in stone, huh? As a Black man, I truly say that there is evil and wickedness in every race and creed of people. I have often felt that every other race is more readily accepted by Whites than Blacks were over time. Eventhough I am in the field of special education, and wear professional attire, I am looked at by some as willing to snatch their purses or some other misdemeanor. As far as Korean history Month, I would applaud that too. I wouldn't try to belittle anyone's culture. But you would, wouldn't you?

What befell to : a million,2,3 --- The cream rises considering the indisputable fact that's thicker then the milk not greater valuable or butter . do you choose that for genuine . survival of the fittest .i'm 6'a million" 220 and intensely own various weapons . in short order i'm valuable i could convey mutually dozens of adult males and sweetness a team which could undertaking the nearby government .In 2 weeks shall we song detect and plant explosives on the citizens and autos of all police detectives and a few judges . basic surveillance and timed instruments could flow away a city to our administration . real others could respond and it may be complicated to guard yet are you valuable they could come and not kill 1000's of people interior the attempt to repair order . difficult paintings is rewarded is the sole reality .yet you fail to point that obtaining wealthy is accomplished off the backs of others difficult paintings and contribution . the guy promoting the pizza merits greater then the guy making it . when I make a hundred pizza's if i became into paid good i could purchase a pizza oven and then yet another 1000 i could hire my own keep . yet this would not take place because of the fact the guy making the pizza isn't paid sufficient to stay to tell the story no longer to point make the pizza for himself . SO in case you purchase the oven make the pizza and hand them over for funds make as much as you choose .in case you contain others pay them as you may your self .

I had a Korean girlfriend who had a massage parlor ..she lied to me and said he was not married and here she was with four kids and two ex husbands and she took of ten years of her age.
She finally got busted for having run a house of prostitution and pandering and a few other crimes..plus did you ever smell that Kim Chee...ewwwww..spoiled cabbage slaw...well she took a little of my money but i used to tease her about how easy was her job..She told me"" You like to touch old men who have skin like a snake?"
Well she got busted and put into jail and lost most of the money she earned hooking..
but that is the way of the world...forever good story you read how many bad stories...yes your story is real and nice but that girl named (LINDA) KIM, OK...was a real horror story as she cheated a lot of old men out of their money and cars,,etc etc..

Nothing like video tape to tell it like it is. Maybe Koreans could care less that their history is ignored while European history is shoved down their children's throat in public schools.
