Not a good reputation in the job market.... you may be considered unstable by the HR experts.... the sooner you find one which you can stick to for 4-5 years, the better. It is time for you to be prepared to reconcile. Job after all is just a job and no one ever thinks he has an ideal job!

42 is quite a lot! Especially for a 23 year old! What are you doing to get fired so often?! Try to stay at a job at least for a year. You can't put these myriad short-term jobs on a resume.
When I entered the job world, I had a few short-term positions. Some of my shortest: 1 hour in a deli (after an hour of slicing disgusting meats, I was afraid I'd be tempted to slice my wrist! I quit.) 1 hour in a pet store (cleaning dog poop out of kennels. The little dogs weren't so bad but the St. Bernard was brutal! Might as well have been human feces! The pet store owner was disappointed when I quit. He said "You'll never get anywhere if you're not willing to start at the bottom." I said I didn't want to start at a dog's bottom! I thought I'd get to play with the cute little animals. I didn't realize I was on poopoo detail...) I lasted 2 weeks at a grocery store where the highlights included lifting heavy bins onto the conveyor belt & memorizing fruit & vegetable codes...
Anyway, the thing is, yes we have a lot of crappy jobs before we find one that's bearable. But it's important to try staying somewhere for sometime so that prospective employers will feel you have some sort of work ethic.
I sympathize. I've had many jobs I hated (not as many as you have & I'm much older than you!) I have a good job now (well-paying at least though I hate it!) but I've had many dead-end, low-paying jobs before I got here. The only job I ever liked was as a copy writer. It didn't pay very much though & I was laid off. I've worked in offices (which I hated, I'm not a 9 to 5er) & in retail. I was an actress for a year (I got a tv commercial & a couple of modelling gigs but too many failed auditions & I got tired of the rejection & gave up). Try to find something you're interested in rather than settling for jobs you hate and maybe it'll be easier to stay.
Good luck!

Keep on searching till ya find what you want - Take advantage of being young. I did almost the same thing (I didn't have quite as many jobs as you, maybe 20 jobs - and was only fired twice) and ended up going to college when I was 32. I graduated when I was 36 with a degree in Thermal Engineering. I always considered myself as being retired when I was young enough to enjoy it. Then when I got older, I took work a little more serious.

Maybe you need to do some research on work ethics.
What does your boss expect from you?
1. show up
2. show up on time
3.go to work station and prepare to work.
4. start your job on time.
5. do your job to the best of your ability.
6. do not dawdle around the place...work!
7.come back from breaks/lunch on time.
8.start tidying up your area a few minutes before quit time.
9.clock out - go home and plan on showing up and on time tomorrow.
Now, which one are you having troubles with? Practice makes perfect and in 42 jobs you have had enough practice.
It is not time to actually put your skills to work!!!!

Yes, it's a bad thing to keep on changing jobs. Try to find a job that suits best for you and try to keep it the best you can.

Those of us that have worked in HR, call you a gypsy, a job-hopper. To be avoided at all costs. It takes appx. $100.00 to induct a worker into a company.
