Easiest is to clean up your system first to see if that doesn't fix the freezing. Do this in order.

1. Remove any unnecessary programs that you no longer need or use.
2. Run your adaware and antiviral programs (download some if you don't have any, everyone should have those two.
3. Defrag as was stated here already

You most likely have numerous problems in your registry that need fixing along with Memory loss and a fragmented hard drive. I think in ur laptop adware , spyware and virus have make the house. So clean it with antiadware that is lavasoft ad-aware se personal and for spyware take the "spybot search and destroy" and for virus take the avg antivirus.

check to see how many programs are running at once and how much memory they are utilizing. To accomplish this, right click on your taskbar at the bottom and select taskmanager. Check the processes tab and see how many processes are running at once. Check to see how much cpu is being used at once. You may only need to either delete stuff to free up memory or add memory to the pc.
