They have like umpteen million government programs already...and they still act AS IF they aren't getting enough!
Whatever happened to "The Lord helps those who help themselves"? APPARENTLY....some people have forgotten! Hellllooo!!!

I agree! I know someone who is homeless and has been for a few years, but when offered a place to stay till she gets back on track or a job theres always a reason why she cant do it. Its pathetic and i have no sympathy. At what point do you wake up and say "Ive lost everything , and im okay with it!" Instead of trying to get it back. I dont understand it!

Apparantly you're a rich, jesus loving,snob who has no idea what its like to be homeless and/or poor. The lord doesn't exist,sorry. And if they are poor they aren't getting enough, they have no money,no docotor. Nothing. I hope that you get your home and everything you own taken away from you so you can expierence what life is like for you then. See where "jesus" and "god" are then.

To each his own, in my opinion yours is narrowminded. Wake up to reality. You have to be almost homeless to qualify for these programs. Things have changed over the years. thanks to George W> Bush. There are many "glitches" to qualify for all these so called programs. Trust me. I have worked as a Social Worker in inner city. I know. There are people who are very needy and until you have walked in their shoes I would not judge.

when I see poor people standing out in the cold on my way home from work...it is so hard to drive past them. I usually give them something.....
