A simple mixture of enough love to let them feel cared for in their uncertain lives and enough freedom to let them figure stuff out for themselves.
Nobody will say teenage depression isn't dangerous. Kids that age always take things too dramatically. They can kill themselves over a relationship that went bad or something. That's where the love and care comes in. Just every so often let them know you're there for them and you'd gladly listen if they wanna talk. Sooner or later they'll give you a shot and if you manage to treat them as equals and show them respect for their situation, they'll silently appreciate it immensely.
Apart from that though, just let them undergo it themselves. They have to figure out a whole lot of stuff on their own, and really no one can help them with that. Let them be free enough to do this, but always keep an eye out for signs of things going wrong.

Oh and don't go to therapy unless things are starting to look very bad... and medication, forget about that. I've tried most anti-depressants myself and they invariably made me worse instead of better.
Good luck.

You need to seek professional help as soon as possible. There are medications on the market, but some of them cannot be given to teens due to the high suicide rate with them. The doctor will know which ones are best.

I think that a proper diagnosis by a physician, medication, and therapy is the best way to help depression.

there isnt really a cure for it , and when it comes to teens its usually hard to treat anything psychologically with them , its better for them to just exercise , eat right , get the right amount of sleep and they should get over it , if they dont then let them see the psychiatrist or psychologist etc. if needed.
