You are mistaken if you think that Catholics do not believe in being born again as a requirement for salvation. However your concept of being born again may be confused with "conviction" which is an abrupt spiritual awakening rather than the spiritual mark of baptism. Just as circumcision was a mark in the flesh of Judaism, baptism is a spiritual mark in the soul of Christianity.

Do YOU understand the concept?

Do you understand that many people of many faiths can believe they are "born again" or "reborn" ?

It is a metaphor. It is not literal. Therefore it can be applied to many things.

If YOU understand the concept of being born again, then you can understand that most people are "reborn" more than once in their lifetimes.

Why wouldn't a Catholic understand the concept. Belief and understanding are two different things. Do you think only you can grasp the concept?

Catholics are spiritually born again (and again and again) through:
+ Belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior
+ Living the Gospel to the best of our ability
+ Daily rededicating ourselves to Jesus Christ
+ Receiving new life in Baptism
+ The forgiveness of sins through the Sacrament of Reconciliation
+ The infusion of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands in Confirmation
+ Taking the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ into our bodies through the Eucharist (Holy Communion)
+ Even during the penitential season of Lent

These are a few ways that Catholics are spiritually born again. We usually just don't use those words.

With love in Christ.

.What makes you think we would not? What makes you think we are not? Do you understand the concept that we are Christians even if you do not agree that ours is the original Church? I appreciate that you are asking a question instead of attacking us and our church. That is better than what some people do. Still your question does imply that you think we need your church to teach us something and that we may not be Christians. I think maybe a catechism book would be useful for you. In there are explanations of all of our beliefs and their scriptural and historical foundations. I think if you started to read one it would become crystal clear to you that we are Christians. Especially if you study the Mass and see what the whole focus of it is. Peace be with you.

i think of despite in case you think approximately your self Luther Catholic, Orthodox, or different, that's significant understand and persist with the seen being born back. Jesus reported this in John 3:3, “Very relatively I help you be attentive to, no you will see the dominion of God till they're born back." yet Nicodemus (the guy Jesus became into conversing to) became into at a loss for words via this statementI. It sounds weird and wonderful to assert this is nice to be "re-birthed." the ingredient is that somebody won't be in a position to evaluate themselves a follower of Jesus in the event that they are actually not recreated in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says "as a result, if everybody is in Christ, he's a clean creation. The previous has long previous; the recent has come!" Paul's writing talk repeatedly back how we are to "positioned to dying our previous techniques" and "positioned on a clean self." the sole way we are able to try this's to ask and place self belief in Jesus that he will recreate our sinful selves. we are lifeless without him and our basically wish is for Jesus will convey us to himself to recreate us. because of the fact, in spite of everything, "no you will see the dominion of God till they're born back."

They obviously don't as they rely on works for salvation as well. Since salvation is a gift, why do they feel they have to EARN it? You can never earn a gift, it is free, for those who choose to accept it. Accepting this gift and repenting is all that is needed to become born again. It really IS that simple with no useless rituals and sacraments required. Why do you think Jesus said 'Wide is the path to destruction (hell) and narrow is the gate to heaven that so few choose. Man-made religions make that path very wide ,indeed.
