Those are fantastic colors classical with a bit of glamour. I would stick with the gold and black

I think the gold shirts are a bit much and it may be hard to match the shirt and the tie. If they do match then the tie will just blend in. I think it would look really nice if you had the groomsmen wear black shirts with the gold ties. It would stand out more and look really nice in pictures. Depending on the time of year you are getting married I would do a red or a really dark green with the gold. I wouldn't do those colors near st. paddy's day or christmas because it might be overkill.

dark red or crimson are excellent with gold. Gold and black together are a good contrast but too much of this will appear monotonous in photographs. Add a little crimson, perhaps some dark red roses in your bouquet, perhaps dark red jewellery on the bridesmaids, or on the groomsmens waistcoats, just to 'soften' the effect.
But it is your wedding after all, so whatever you want is paramount. Have fun!

Poor bridesmaids! It sucks being a bridesmaid sometimes the color and dresses the bride puts them in. Not to mention the groomsmen. How horrible for them all. The probably don't have the guts to tell you your color choices are horrid. If you have to do black and gold? then just leave the torture there...no more colors! Solid Gold left, Solid Gold right.....

My friend always wears purple with gold..not too sure how suitable that would be for a wedding though! Quite a strange choice to have gold bridesmaid dresses, bet they will look gorgeous! Have a lovely wedding =)

Your colours sound lovely. Lots of colours go with gold but if you put your groomsmen suddenly in a coloured tie it's not going to tone in with anything and look odd, apart from a cream/ivory tie if it goes with your dress.

Dont know about the gold shirts ?? Personally I would find that a bit much - kind of tacky over the top. I would stick with white shirts and gold ties if it were me. But hey it's your wedding so your choice xxx Have a great day xxx

If you wanted to you could add a splash of a more bold color.....but just a little bit.
You don't want to mix too many colors.....but, for example .... if you wanted the guys to wear a red boutinneer....or something like that....that would be cool. Just a light splash of color would work. But, sticking with the two colors you have will also work.
It's just a matter for your personal preference....
Congrats! And, good luck!!!

I love this idea! Very pretty and classy! The gold is a pretty bold color so I would just keep the black. I def use red roses and my flower - I'm sure it will look great!

I think gold and black are fine together. They are simply enough colors that compliment themselves well enough. Why complicate that and your wedding attire and decore by adding another color.
I say, keep in simple and just stick to those two colors.
