I think someone installed one of those keystroke logger programs on my laptop. How can I tell? What should I be looking for?

There are some programs aimed at detecting them:
kldetector and ssa-keylogger-cleaner, for example, but they don't catch everything. kldetector has you type in various applications and then looks for signs of the data having been stored somewhere, since many keyloggers save the data and then transmit it later, but it can be hard to interpret the results. ssa-keylogger-cleaner detects a particular keylogger. In general, though, they can be hard to find. If you think you're infected, you may want to save your data (no software, just data) and do a clean reinstall of everything. And check for hardware keyloggers as well if you use any external devices.
