Ok well i rescued 2 stray puppies a couple of days ago. the thing is they want to do everything together. you can't keep them apart even for a second! when i try to feed the pups by giving them seperate bowls and a divider between them, they eat in their own dish for awhile, then start coming to nip at each others dish. when i do give them the chow to eat in the same bowl, they start growling and barking at each other ferociously until one wins and they eat up everything while the other looks on, defeated, and don't get anything to eat!
when i let one puppy out of the cage (its more of a fenced up place which is about 5 x 3 m), the other whines constantly, EVEN if there is food and treats and all goodies for each other.
how can i seperate them to feed them at least? or should i just feed them in a large bowl. is it good to train them like this? wouldn't there be complications later when they're bigger dogs too? plus each won't be getting equal proportions.

Sounds like these two are pretty close. Lots of paired rescued puppies are like this, because they were all each other had. If you just got them a few days ago, they are still adjusting. You need to feed them at seperate times, or at least in seperate rooms. There could be complications when they are older, but when they adjust to their new surroundings, an alpha dog will begin to show. This is when you need to have them seperate, so one does not hog the other's food. This is the problem I have with my horses. Before my 23 year old arab mare passed away last month, the other two enjoyed stealing her food. Now, the other two are still adjusting, and like to eat together or steal each other's food. My only mare now, Bailey, has always been the boss. But my young gelding is now showing that he could be too. Only time will tell. The biggest thing is to get them first eating out of seperate bowls. Get different colored bowls, and always use one color with the same dog. Scold them if they take each other's food. Reward them with affection when they are good. Good luck!

thats so cool you rescuing 2 puppies. Well done!

I think seperate rooms for feeding at least. As for the growling etc, well they are siblings as such that is to be expected they will work the rest out themselves

try feeding them in seperate rooms with closed doors....once they re used to eating out of their own bowls try to slowly bring them closer together until they eat in the same room again with no problems.

It sounds like they are fighting for dominance and neither one is winning. Try putting them in separate rooms to eat and see if that works. Then they'll get used to eating in that room at whatever time(s) you feed them.

in the event that they look doing ok then they in all hazard do no longer desire care suitable away. i might seek advice from a vet, nonetheless, so as that they are arranged to handle issues once you do desire vet care as handling a conjoined twin dogs will in all hazard be diverse than handling a universal dogs.
