Internet Explorer (IE) is getting worse and worse. I too had to deal with the same kind of problems as you. I wanted to be loyal and stay with IE, but the problems just kept on coming up. I ended up having to switch to Mozilla Firefox. I know i know, its not IE, but you'll come to love it. It seems like everybody is switching to Mozilla because there are so many things going wrong with Internet Explorer.
Good things about Mozilla Firefox:
* like internet explorer it is free to download
* it VERY RARELY freezes
* there will be no technical difficulties
* you can still have a lot of pages/tabs open at once
* if you like using tabs and use the same sites daily (for example: myspace, yahoo answers, etc...), you exit the page, then next time you come on it will ask you if you want the same tabs you had when you exited, or start fresh. I found that awesome.
* it responds very fast!!!
Hope this helps because having to deal with Internet Explorer should not be an issue. Internet should be fast, dependable, and easy to use.
If you end up wanting to try out Mozilla Firefox, you can download it for free here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
If you still want to use Internet Explorer, I suggest making sure you have no viruses to slow your computer down. If you dont have a checker, you should download AVG Free here: http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/
Also try not to have a lot open at once when you have your internet on. Good luck and hope this helps!

Beta releases are meant for IT specialists in simple terms.

your settings are such that the new window is opening in the background, either turn on the tabbed browsing, and set the settings to open links in a new tab....or change the settings to open in a new window....or the simple solution as explained in other postings is to change your browser....to firefox...there is a plugin which you can set to open certain pages in an IE tab (sites which do not work with firefox like microsoft update).
