Actually it is good for you to do this, for several reasons. It helps ensure that you are getting your daily recommended amount of water intake. It also helps with digestion, and it can help you lose weight, if you need to, since it will take you longer to finish your meal and the water helps fill you up.
Most people don't drink enough water. I have been known to drink four or five glasses throughout dinner. There is definitely nothing wrong with this.

In the U.S., we always drink something with our meals: water (considered the most healthy), colas., iced tea, coffee, wine (occasionally). In most restaurants, water is served without cost either side by side with the other beverages or by itself. It's often brought to the table automatically before you place any orders for food or drinks.
I've heard some people (Asians in particular) voice concerns that the drinking of water with meals may dilute the digestive juice in your stomach when you need it the most but there's no scientific evidence to it and the medical community has never come out against it.

It is perfectly OK. It slows down the rate that you eat - which gives your body time to figure out whether you have eaten enough - and helps remove food particles from your mouth.
A sip of water is much better for you than a soft drink because it doesn't contain tooth damaging acids, sugar or any artificial sweeteners.

Since when is drinking water an activity unmarried to eating? There's a reason why restaurants always bring you a glass of water for free. It's completely acceptable.
Now, if you're gulping and/or slurping your water in an odd, dog-lapping-up-water-from-his-bowl manner, than that's a different story. But drinking water as, well, one would drink water, is normal. No habit is here to break, my friend.

Drink greater water era. He could eat greater foodstuff an afternoon, notwithstanding that's probably equivalent to or much less energy than you eat. Having greater, smaller foodstuff keeps the metabolism up and aids in weightloss because of the fact your physique is burning energy nonstop from processing the nutrition. in case you opt to drop some pounds, shrink SUGAR FROM YOU nutrition recurring. Sugar reasons insulin ranges to upward thrust, which blocks fat loss. that's the reason those that be stricken by sort I diabetes are so skinny, mutually as those with sort II diabetes are obese. not greater sodas, candy, and so on. despite in case you eat your popular quantity of on a regular basis energy. It won't count. particularly, replenish on proteins, green vegetables, nuts, leafy vegetables, and on occasion end result (as they comprise some sugar). Your fat will soften away and you will experience fuller quicker. I went this course and lost 20lbs in 2 months and saved it off. I even have cheat days as quickly as each couple of weeks the place I pig out. yet i believe like crap after and don't do it lots those days. good success to you!

No, as a matter of fact you shouldn't drink water until a good hour after eating. Drink the water immediately before you eat.

do you feel like it is a compulsion? if so, you may want to work on curtailing sipping too much or unusually often so that you are more comfortable when dining in public. of course physically it is harmless...but the way u ask makes me think it is a compulsion you are concerned about.
do you have other compulsions? if so...and they are interfering with your life, consider behavioral therapy.
all the best.
