Any time you have a symptom such as a sore throat that lasts for more than 3-4 days, you should always go to your doctor. I highly doubt it is cancer. Every time I get a sore throat with a cold, it's always kind of one-sided and hurts whenever I swallow anything. It's normal. Try some chloraseptic spray and some sore throat drops. Also take some aspirin or ibuprofen. Should help.

I take a spoonful of honey three times an afternoon and that helps. Plus ginger to help digestion. So do no longer you flow irritating approximately throat maximum cancers. wish I incredibly have been of a few help right here.

If the pain is more on the middle or lower neck area, you must be guessing THYROID CANCER..i suppose?well, here are some good news that should make you feel better:
-BENIGN(noncancerous) neoplasms outnumber thyroid carcinomas by a ratio of almost 10:1
-thyroid cancer accounts for less than 1% of solitary nodules
-Papillary CA (usually if uv been exposed to radiation) is the most common form, but has an EXCELLENT PROGNOSIS with 10-YEAR survival rate in excess of 95%
- The deadly type Anaplastic CA account for fewer than 5% of all thyroid cancers, with a mean age of 65 years old (but u'r not 65 yet, ryt?)

YES, please see an EENT (eyes, ears, nose, throat) Doctor!
NOTE THE FF:
--> early diagnosis is always best
--> dysphagia (pain in swallowing) is serious especially if it disrupts your breathing
--> Throat cancers are more common in women
--> U can try to have a friend help you out on this one:
- make sure there is good lighting.
- stand or sit in front of ur friend.and RELAX.
- try to look at the ceiling or simply look up so that ur head moves backwards and ur neck area is visible to ur friend.
- swallow.
- NORMAL: you should be able to see a horizontal structure moving upwards smoothly; this movement should be seen in the MIDLINE area of ur neck.
- ABNORMAL:
*if u see a prominent lump, and the movement stated above is displaced to one side.also check if the lump moves freely.
* if u see a really large mass on both sides, of almost the same size

--> increase in the diameter of ur neck area
--> a family history of:
- Goiter
- Hypothyroidism/ hashimoto's thyroiditis
- Hyperthyroidism/Grave's disease
- Thyroid Cancer
--> UNILATERAL, FREELY moving, SINGLE LUMP/NODULE
--> history of radiation treatment to the head and neck region
--> hoarseness and dyspnea

But, if the soar throat is more like on the upper neck region...it's more likely pharyngitis/tonsilitis. This is easy to detect though... still, have a friend help u out on this:
- check for whitish or yellowish stuffs when u open ur mouth and say "ahhh"
- do check for any stinky breath...it's really important
- FEVER?
If it's more of this one, then you SHOULD BE ALARMED. Why?
Well, a simple soar throat are neglected by people as just nothing...little do they know that if left untreated, the Streptococcus pyogenes (bacteria) causing this soar throat is the major cause of Rheumatic Heart Disease and Mitral Valve Defects. but if u detect this culprit early, it's very treatable with simply penicillin for 10 days.
But then again, it's ALWAYS safer to check in w/ ur doc.

Probably just a sore throat. If you have a history of thyroid cancer in your family, check the back of your neck around your esophogus for swelling.

I gargle salt water when I have sore throat to relieve some of the pain.

Uh, no. You don't have cancer, I don't believe. All of those symptoms are normal cold, flu, or strep throat (infection of the throat by streptococcus bacteria) symptoms.

It's 99.99999% not cancer. Just go see your doctor, and get normal cold or flu symptom relievers, or if you have strep, antibiotics. Your doctor will quell any fears you have about it being cancer, guaranteed.

Oh for God's sake ! You do not have cancer, you have a sore throat, maybe tonsillitis. Go and see your doctor, he may offer anti-biotics if it's really bad.

I'd say you're FAR more likely to be dealing with a strep infection or even the mumps, than cancer. Either way, you should get to the doctor.

No you don't have cancer, gargle with warm salt water.five times a day.and if it doesn't get better .then see your doctor.
.Its probably sinus drainage.you sleep on one side and the sinus drains down on that side and makes it sore.take some aspirin.
but I wouldnt worry about it.unless it doesnt get better in 3 days,
Gargle.OK?
I wish you well.

I also have that at the moment it is very unlikely to be fatal or serious. It will just take time to heal. Take aspirin. Throat lozengers. drink honet, lemon and whiskey as they help your throat. It is just going to take time to heal.
