It basically depends on the task at hand. If its something like eating healthy food or doing your homework, you should remind yourself how lucky you are to have a family who can afford to send you to school. If on the other hand, it is something unpleasant, you have to decide why you have to do it. If, to please your parents, go ahead & do it, no matter how unpleasant, as long as it is legal. If it is something official etc, you will have to weigh the benefits associated with the task. If it is related to sex, your relationships etc, you must decide how important this 'thing' is to your partner & whether he is willing to do something similar (i.e. something unpleasant to him) for you.

Try setting a time aside to do the thing you don't want to do and then sit down and do it. Tell yourself you will work on this thing for 1/2 an hour or set your own goal for how long you will work on this thing and then start! When you have reached your goal, stop take a break or keep going. You might even find that you are enjoying this subject or task more than you thought you would and that would be a blessing. My mom always told me that it builds character to do things you don't like to do.

I think about the good that will come out of doing what I don't want to do. Even with things as mundane as getting the dishes done. I don't really WANT to do the dishes, but if I do them, then everything will be nice and clean afterwards, which I do want.

It was the same thing with school. Keeping in mind what I wanted to do what I didn't want to do paid off more than just putting off what I didn't want to do.

I set a time for an hour (you can lengthen or lower the time limit). I do homework in that amount of time. Then, I take a five or ten minute break to do something that I enjoy. I keep going back and forth like that until I get it done.
