You're adding bulk instead of long lean muscle. You want to aim for quality instead of quantity here. Instead of doing 200 regular sit-ups, try doing 50 modified. Modify them by stopping half way up and counting to 5, as you reach the top of the sit-up hold for 5, and stop on your way back to the ground for a count of 5. You're going for a very controlled, slower movement that will strengthen your abs as opposed to bulking them up.

This is the same principle as lifting weights and doing more reps with lighter weights (as opposed to lifting very heavy for less reps). It gives you the more desireable, long and lean, toned, and nonbuldging muscles.

Good luck!

Most people include dieting along with exercise, and sit-ups only affect a small area of the stomach. Eating pattern changes, vigorous activities, these types of things need to be considered.

this might happen because when you do sit ups, you must do a 'counterstretch' so you can level the muscle strain out.

to level the sit ups you must lay down faced down on the floor and keep you're legs together and arms straight in front of you. then bring both up at the same time for five seconds and down again repeat this a couple of times and it might be good again

Pull your stomach in while doing it...

And for devil's sakes, please wait until the fat burns & you'll lose the tummy. It won't go away in a few days. Give it a few weeks at least. Patience is necessary.

I know you can & will do it. All the very best!!! ♫☺♫

doing sit ups builds muscle in your stomach, so it makes you look bigger...you should only do situps after you've lost enough tummy weight so you can appear toned rather than just thick.

yes you are building muscles in the stomach area but you have to sweat the fat off...spot reducing never ever works like you think it would...you should get your heart rate up and burn (sweat)that fat off...cut back on the grocerys
