You can be reported and your question removed for "insulting" other participants. But sometimes the truth only seems like an insult, i.e. when it is truly the case but the offended party doesn't want to believe it. If someone is arguably an idiot and someone tells them so, is that really an insult?

it happened to me.But I answered a question in the Gaywad section. what gets me is I cant voice my opinion without offending but they can and have gotten very nearly pornographic in some of their questions. with kids on this site no less. I think it only takes one person to report you and then you get a love letter from yahoo. so dont offend anyone. too many tender heart, political correct and you-cant put-my-beliefs-down kind of people out there.i will be expecting another violation notice for my answer here. sorry i seemed to have strayed from your question. I agree with whole heartedly. and people get called morons and idiots all the time, hell i have been called names before, doesnt really bother me. the only way i will report someone well there are two reasons 1. they are making any kind of reference about abusing a child or they are looking for drugs. You know that sort of stuff, but not because someone called me an idiot

there are some malicious people on this site who make a career out of reporting people. Even if you have a case to argue, the other person can report you out of spite.

incidentally, can I please ask EVERYONE to complain about Violations when they are not warranted.?
A lot of people have been deleted recently after working very hard to get up to a level where they can ask and answer unlimited.

If you get violated for something that is NOT even close to being offensive, please report it with the email header "harassment by another user" and state that you do not deserve this violation. Say that it is harassment and you want the matter investigated and the REPORTERS account suspended.

I will be reporting EVERY one from now on

Lets stop the mindless yobs destroying our work

Just one point though. If you deserve the Violation - take it on the chin !

It depends, if you swear and cuss people out, or use vile sexual commentary! I had an answer I wrote taken off because I strongly answered a girl who said truly outrageous things about my Lord and savior. I was not at all flattering to her at all,I can tell you that! But very passionate and I rebuked her, harshly! Never using foul, or vile, language of any kind, but I guess I made my point cause I was denied access have my answer viewed. I guess the, secular progressives were all screaming at the same time, STOP,STOP, this is not politically correct!! Anyway, all the VILE LANGUAGE ANSWERS, WERE LEFT IN PLAIN SIGHT! It's a very sad state of our society, when evil is received with arms wide open, and good advantageous rebuke is considered a hate crime! Proof to me that,The Lord is surly coming soon!!

Depends on how the truth is stated I guess.I never understood how Yahoo works when dealing with reported posts.Sometimes I think anything reported gets removed.Other times I think they remove things after reading it and deciding it was not appropriate. And sometimes I think that things that should be removed never are.So I have no idea what is going on at Yahoo. But people who report sometimes, I think, do so just out of a need to be vindictive and it is possible that their vindictive behavior pays off. But, then again, who knows.

If you're going to answer a question, make it genuine, without malice and thought-provoking!

Don't go all out to criticise that which you either dislike or don't understand.

There is no need to heavily criticise another's beliefs just because they don't fall into line with your own.

The best chance humanity has is when we all try to understand one another. We don't have to convert people to do this, just change the way they look at others.

You can phrase it much different. Saying someone is an idiot implies they are stupid in all areas, but in truth their knowledge of architecture may dwarf your own pathetic knowledge. Thus you an say someone's argument is ignorant or has more holes in it than Thomas Paine's Age of Reason.......... Attack the argument, not the person. Remember that you dummy.

I have got reported and my question removed because of stating facts before. There's really nothing you can do about it. BTW, it isn't just limited to R & S, it is in all sections.

Why would someone ask questions that are "arguably", as you would say, insulting in the first instance?
ex-Muslim girl does that constantly.

So, THEY are insultS.

An actual idiot (a term traditionally applied to severe autism) would not be on Y!A. They don't have the brain function.
