If we drill a hole a few miles deep and inject water, we can extract almost unlimited geothermal energy. So why are we not developing this source more? Must be because drilling a hole miles deep is darn expensive, but how is our drilling technology progressing?

So is it just an engineering technology issue? Why not spend millions on some new drilling technology? Blast a hole with a super-lazer beam???

Pressure at depths affording geothermal energy are overwhelming and those vents which are nearer the surface are too dispersed and widespread to have much more than local benefits.

In most of the world you have to drill too deep so it is too costly

We can use the natural geysers and the volcanic vents for this purpose.
