I Have Owned 6 Different Jeeps, However This Is My First 5 Speed Jeep.
My Trouble started when my pedal went soft(nothing there) I checked the master cyl ,Fluid But no Motion on the Plunger Assembly,I replaced the master cyl And Bled the system (After allowing all old fluid to escape)With new dot3.Have a nice hard pedal...until you drive ,If you hold in 2nd or 3rd at low speed pedal goes completely Soft, let off Accelerator And Pedal Becomes Hard Again. This Has Me Baffled, All the Hydraulic lines are good. I'm Hoping that Hydraulic Throwout Bearing is Good As No Slipping or grinding ,Shifts real easy when pedal is up.
Any Suggestions For A do it your Selfer? Please Help

you have answered your own question yes the slave cylinder/release bearing is the problem and transmission removal is required. 1990 was Peugeot B.A 10/5 transmission and a set of female torx sockets will be needed to remove don't forget to remove the crank sensor and place out of the way to prevent damage to it. and you should resign yourself to a complete clutch job while tranny is out including machining of flywheel. good luck i hope you have a warm/dry place to do this and be careful jacking and blocking as you can be dead only once.

because of the fact the transmission began screaming as you have been using alongside then you definately can rule out grasp cable or hydraulic grasp difficulty. The grasp thrust bearing is a possibly clarification on your issues or the grasp tension plate diaphram has collapsed. The thrust bearing is the main possibly perpetrator
