Vista(original) would cost you a whopping Rs.10000 these days.
You can get a cheaper version from e-Bay.
Vista requires minimum 512 mb RAM and a 2.4GHz processor. Also, it'll slow down your PC to a large extent. These days, the customers are finding flaws and trying to improve it to the maximum extent possible. So, you shouldn't buy it just now cause XP is just fine. Let a new updated Vista come out, that'll be a lot more error-free.
It still doesn't support a lot of softwares and high-graphic games. It's just not compatible.
