Jeff has just as much of a chance as anyone this year, you don't win four championships by accident. Gordon newly married and a child on the way is more focused and hungrier than ever. With another year together with letarte this team has really became a solid team once again. If Gordon gets those lucky breaks we all know a champion needs, this looks to number five for the number 24 DuPont team.

He is one of the favorites this year as well as he should be. After all, how can you count out a 4 time Champ???? Dumb Darrell has picked him to win it. I know there are a lot of J. Gordon haters out there but the truth hurts, he is one of the past 10 top drivers in nascar and ranks right up there with Darrell and Dale Sr. 75 wins, 57 poles and 4 Champs. What else does he have to do to prove to the pundits how good he is. If he quit tomarrow, there is no driver out there right now that will catch him in the next 10 years, not Tony, not Johnson, Biffle,or any of them. I'll go one step further and say that if Everham had stayed with him, by now he would have 100 wins and 2 more Champs.

if you think about what winning it this year would accomplish, his 5th championship, that would be amazing. that being said, with the chase format and all, winning the championship now requires even more luck. while Jeff is certainly capable of winning his 5th title, i think the odds are still against him. someone like Tony probably has a better chance of winning it, because Jeff was way too up and down last year. the car was either great, or it was garbage. you cant win a championship like that. he will also need to cut down his DNFs; he had 7 last year, and Jimmie only had 1. all in all, i gotta say go Jeff, and win that elusive 5th title this year!

Doubtful....when NASCAR instituted the "chase" a few years back, the points system overhaul that accompanied that worked against Gordon. Is it possible that he could be chap once again?....sure....in the same way that it is remotely possible for a snowball to be found in hell.

The only way that loser will be champion again is if all the rest of the teams quit racing.

Well he is a great driver and has a lot of good things going on this year and a championship is one more thing that he is craving! I think that he has a very good chance of getting it, but it is still very early in the season.

I think Tony will have a good run this year. I don't think Gordon will be the champ.
