Mercenaries are paid soldiers who sell their services to others. After mercenaries were used by the legitamate government of Sierra Leon and did a very good job saving thousands of lives and restoring order it is likely that more private companies will emerge in the near future.Though they have had a bad reputation through history many great nations have relied on them including the Uk who used them in america during the war of independance and to this day they employ Gurkas as do the Indian army.

Mercenaries are private soldiers who fight for money and don't particularly care which side they are on , they just do it for the cash, it's not a new thing, it's been going on since battles began!
Egyptians and Romans an Greeks used them and they are still being used all over the world!

Paramilitary individuals, or organizations who are hired guns, also known as milirary contractors. They have no allegiance to the people they work for. Their allegiance is to themselves and to the almighty buck.
