Measuring voulme as a counting means can only be used for small objects, such as sands.

You can't use it to count big irregular objects such as rocks & balls because there will always empty spaces between them. You can actually count balls using volume if you include the empty spaces as cube shape.

When the voulme is figured, divided by the volume of individual objects. You'll figure the quantity.
