Temp under the arm, axillary you add a degree
Temp under tongue, oral, it is what it is
Temp in the rectum, you subtract a degree.
Obviously your child has seen a doc for you to have a specific diagnosis. I would do all the fever control measures recommended and if that doesn't work I would call the on call doctor and ask about alternating Ibuprofen and Tylenol and get an accurate dosage based on her weight. If she is still eating and drinking and not predisposed to febrile seizures, I would just do my best to keep her comfy. Just make sure you talk to your doctor. Good Luck.
Don't use a cold cloth or put her in a cold bath, that will cause her to chill and increase her temp, not decrease it. If you feel the need to put her in the bath, use tepid water, warm but not hot. That will help her body regulate her temp. Not every child with a fever belongs in the ER. That is why doctors are on call.

Under the arm you add a degree. Do not use a cold cloth or put her in a cold tub, this could cause shock. A luke warm cloth to the forehead or behind the neck may help. Does the temperature go down after Motrin or Tylenol? If so I wouldn't worry too much, if not you can give Tylenol and Motrin together. Motrin first wait 2 hours then give Tylenol, wait another 2 hours and give Motrin again. Hope your daughter is feeling better soon.

You add a degree. This flu is just awful. There is nothing they can give you for it. You can only alternate tylenol and motrin for the fever and it will not help all that well. Keep her with plenty of fluids and keep a cool rag on her forehead and wipe her down every now and then with cool water. Try to only keep a sheet on her as well.. to many blankets will make the fever worse. My best friend and all of her 4 kids just had it .. took 2wks for all of them to get over it.. cause one would pass it to the other. I sure hope she feels better soon. Good luck.

Yes add a degree and you can alertnate IB profin and tylonal every four hours. My had the same thing and was running a 105.5 he is better now. If the temp gets any higher or if she is vomiting and cannot stop I would take her back tot he doctor.

I don't wait to do the math I take her to the doctor. My daughter's normal temp is 96.5...if she were to present with a temp of 102.7 I would be in the emergency room.

Anytime a child is running a fever that high, you need to take them to the emergency - take off the child cloths and use a cold cloth; call the emergency room ASAP for advice; I am sure they will tell you the same thing.
If you don't have insurance you can still go...
Been there many times.

i would advise you to first take a cold towel and keep on her head, keep on changing the towel everytime in 2 mins, secondly keep on wiping her body with the cold water towel as much as you can, third give her adol or medicine for babies to reduce fever, supogitery is good.. and fourth take her to the doctor asap...
