...A man and woman living together without the benefit of a proper marriage relationship is a grand mistake. I urge you to consider:
...1. You will not spend your lives playing cards. You will be sexually active, and outside of a proper marriage relationship, it clearly violates Scripture, observe:
************************************************************
...1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
...3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality;
...4 that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,
...5 not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God;
************************************************************
...Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (Fornication is sex outside of marriage.)
************************************************************
...1 Corinthians 6:9-11
...9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
...10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
************************************************************
...A few more notes:
...2. Guys will want plenty of sex, and if you give it to them outside of marriage, they will probably never marry you - they figure why should they, if they can get all they want this way.
...3. If you have resulting pregnancies, you will bring babies into an insecure home situation. Studies show homes with 2 committed loving parents (father and mother) is the best way to raise children.
...4. What's to keep anyone hanging around, outside of being married? It is a safeguard for both partners.
...5. I wouldn't give any boyfriend/girlfriend serious consideration, if they thought that living together was a valid choice.
...6. One who truly loves you will commit himself to you.
...7. A piece of sage advice - marry someone who loves God more than he or she loves you.
...8. Last piece of advice - marry only a growing Christian.
************************************************************
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and be saved (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

Lily: The Holy Bible does not explicitly tell us not to "shack" up but , by the same token, the bible does not tells us that it is o k to go to a movie, either - does it - although it is not wrong to. Based on the Christian "moral obligation" implied by God's Love, imparted into the hearts of Christians, via the Holy Spirit, to express Godly love and concern to both,Him [God] and neighbour, why wouldn't a Christian not want to be married to the person God brought into his or her life ? There are a lot of decisions to make in our lives which are not laid out in the Bible for us to view. These "calls" are left up to the individual's, own, judgement to decide from.

Actually - I think partly this is a difference with the term 'marriage'. It wasn't always the state regulated certificate that it is now. Back when the earlier parts of the bile were written a marriage WAS two people living together having sex. It would of course usually start with a big party and saying vows in front of God but now its all money making - which I have to say from what Jesus said about the money changers in the temple, I think he would be disgusted with it.

nope. it doesent say anything. and no its not wrong.
what youre talking about is a product of the christian culture, not from the bible
its from peoples ideas about what is right and wrong (guided by the bible and their religion)
