What is the biggest hindrance in your walk with God? What holds you back from being the on fire, dedicated Christian that you desire to be?
For me it's loving people. We are instructed to love one another, even our enemies. Sometimes I have very little tolerance for people. Not all people, but the pettiness and attitudes of some people. So it is hard for me to love them, when I don't even really like them. Although, of course I don't hate them, I'd just rather not be bothered by them. Good thing Jesus didn't feel that way about us.
This is something I struggle with (I"m working on it!). What do you struggle with?

Yes I Am - This was a question for Christians, if you are not a Bible believing Christian, why answer the question at all?

Amen Morgan! It is definitely about a personal relationship with Jesus, and not religion. A lot of people confuse the two... There a huge difference.

...It takes lots of God's grace and patience to interact with people, especially those who are skeptics, who scoff, and those who have no interest in objective conversations.
...They might find out that Christians aren't really the great enemy of the US that they are fashioned to be by atheists groups, the ACLU, and much of the media, and that maybe they would find out there is much more to fear from radical Muslim fundamentalists, than there is from Christians (i.e. I know of nowhere where Christians are torturing and beheading people).
...I also struggle with those who claim to be "tolerant" and are anything but tolerant when it comes to Christianity. Christianity is intolerant - Jesus claimed to be the only way to God, and to be God Himself, and this excludes everyone else - but what most will not ask or investigate is whether this is true.
...It is true; I believe on Christ alone.
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved
(Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

Hmmm. . .this is actually a really good question that I've been pondering lately. I think what has held me back the most is religion itself. I have learned there is a difference between having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and focusing on what He would have me do in my life vs. religious doctrine that, while it provides structure, does it do anything to help me with my personal walk? Or does it overtake the personal walk to where I'm more concerned about following dogma vs. Christ? If so. . .then I need to redirect my priorites to Christ and find a fellowship that encourages me in that walk. That's where I'm at today.

Boredom. Life can be monotonous, the same old thing everyday and that makes it hard to be on fire, as you say and live with enthusiasm. There are sometimes people who are hard to love, like you said, but I think the solution is to pray to God and ask Him to help you love those you find it hard to.
Still I see my struggles as obstacles to overcome, and that is what life as a Christian is about : overcoming the things that can stand in your way, so you can live for God every moment.

Let me just point out that the beliefs of the religious sect I am choosing are not based on biblical fundamentalism but on its own spiritual philosophy and ideology. It is an international community with its own history, mentality and way of life. It has a value system of its own.

they at the instant are not Jews via fact Jew's do no longer have faith the messiah has come yet. they do no longer have faith Jesus so believing in Jesus and saying your Jewish for sure contradicts one yet another.... that is unhappy that there are those Evangelist Christians that decision themselves "Jews". provide up this custom now, your disgracing the two Judaism and Christianity.

The same thing, but I have learned that you have to love them, it does not mean you have to have anything to do with them.
