My hair is growing brittle as if i had a bunch of chemicals soaked in it, is there products out there that can help me? Or can this be from not eating properly?

All I can suggest is more fats in your diet - particularly good quality essential fatty acids like what you find in olive oil. If you are on low fat or no fat products it could be contributing to your problem.

Peace!

Your hair gets it nutrients from the blood, so what your ingest can and will effect your hair. However there are some things you can do to soften your hair and moisturize it without over doing it. What kind of shampoo and conditioner are you using? If you are using something harsh like pantene pro-v the PH of those are too hard on your head and your skin. Your best bet is going to be Paul Mitchell, usually when hair gets brittle it needs moisture, it needs carbohydrates, you will find this in Daily Moisture shampoo and conditioner. Supper skinny is really great but i would hold doff on it until your hair uses up some of the moisture first. I hope I helped you out. Your bets bet in order to purchase Paul Mitchell is only in a salon, if you buy it at a local wholesaler or at your local drug store it is not guaranteed, it can be contaminated or old and over its expiration date.

Use Paul Mitchell: Super Skinny! If you read my profile and look at my hair answers that have been successful you will believe me. This is the only moisturizing shampoo that provingly gives you long-lasting results! It will let your hair recover or just give you the thing to not even need you to recover in the future! Super Skinny totally lets splits ends both grow down with the rest or naturally blend in with your hair and has the freshest scent. It is so smooth and gives your hair the professionally straightened look that you can also style to curl, crimp etc. But best of all these to bottles come to only about $15.00! You can purchase this at your local beauty salon or a beauty wholesalers building!

Hope I helped.

It can be from not eating properly, if that's the case drink more milk and take hair skin and nails vitamins, also take a capsule of vitamin e daily. Your hair will need external conditioning too, try using warmed olive oil and a deep conditioner, like Hollywood Beauty's cholesterol. Try moisturizing shampoos like Creme of Nature, the one with the green label. Don't use any petroleum products or any that contain mineral oil, these do not moisturize or soften the hair, the can cause hair to thin out because they clog pores.. I used oil lotions, the water based ones like Profectives, then I rub on a little hair oil to keep the moisture in.

Hi, tell your mom not to blow dry her hair every day, it is drying it out and helping to make it brittle... one thing that is helpful is to deep condition her hair at the ends, at least twice a month. There are some great products available, but if you are frugal like me, use a bit of good ole mayonnaise or Miracle Whip from your fridge... it is great! The eggs, oil and vinegar are good for hair... you can also use a diluted vinegar, lemon or beer rinse to finish and the hair will be shiny! This is not crazy, I am a hairstylist /retired....

Brittle is caused due to ulta dry hair. Your hair doesnt have enough moisture to stay healthy. That is why you need to massage your hair daily with olive oil and wash it off in the morning. Also do not use hot water on your hair use only cold water to reduce split ends and frizzy hair.

It may be from not eating properly

But here's a thought you may have a hormone imbalance. Chk with your DR. Have you gained weight for no apparent reason and no matter how hard you try you cannot lose the weight? Is your skin dry and flaky?

You could have hypothyroidism-you don't have to have all of the symptoms. Go to the Dr. have your level checked.

Too often people treat only the symptom and don't find the cause.
Rule this out by talking to your dr.
